Mission: To stimulate an academic environment for promotion of teaching- learning process and research. To channelize changes towards all round development of students through facilitation, community participation and sensitization to social and ethical issues.

Activities for the year 2012-2013

To empower and enrich the quality of teaching, a one day seminar was organized on 19th January 2013 on “ENHANCING QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION” for all teaching staff. Two guest speakers, Dr.Samuel Sukumar, Associate professor, Department of Zoology, Madras Christian College and Mrs.C.Sangamithirai, Additional standing counsel to Central Government spoke on “Achieving Academic Excellence” and “Teaching Adolescents in the Changing Scenario” respectively. The programme helped the staff to soak new energy to overcome hurdles and obstacles of the current scenario.

Principal and members of IQAC participated in a National seminar on “Role of Teachers in Enhancing Quality in Higher Education” conducted by Madras University.
To learn from the good practice and exchange of news with other city colleges. The IQAC Coordinator went as a resource person for a workshop on the “Role of IQAC in Colleges” conducted by Meenakshi College for Women, Kodambakkam , Chennai.
To enhance the teaching learning process LCD’s were provided to a few Post graduate departments.
Student feedback on the course, teaching and administration was conducted in every department and the consolidated analysis for the entire college was done by the IQAC team. The feedback questionnaire was based on NAAC format.
Academic Audit was conducted on 18th April 2013 in all departments and reports submitted to the Controller of Examinations.

Future Plans

To include student members in the IQAC team.
To conduct orientation programme for the first year students.
To conduct leadership programme for union office bearers.
To conduct workshop for teachers and students.
To improve infrastructure and learning resources.
